Lower exposed cobble supports water willow. Higher floodplain supports floodplain forest.;Cobble bar at head of an island or spit within the high water channel of the river. Site is subject to frequent, high volume flooding, evidenced by large flotsam above this community and by battered trees, which are kept at sapling size. Community is a diverse shrub/herb community dominated by tall warm season grasses and herbs. There is an abundance of false blue indigo which is thought to reflect limestone influenced substrate.
